We refurbished the cottage
in 2008, and have tried to keep the character charm and ‘quirkiness’ that makes it so special for us, but with
all the modern comforts of home, a modern bathroom, and a handmade fitted kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher! You can see some of the cottage's 300 years of history with exposed beams made from old ships masts
and a large open fireplace that once held the range. During the refurbishment
we have used reclaimed materials and had new doors and latches made by local carpenters and blacksmiths. We hope you love the cottage as much as we do.
Following an update of our
sofas and beds to make the cottage even more comfortable in 2012 we are delighted to have been awarded 4 stars by quality
in tourism.
